Bias is inherently internalized in humans, and thus, everyone is biased. Diversity hiring is where employees are recruited based on specific performance parameters and merits to ensure a limited bias based on gender, culture, ethnicity, age, and more. In the past couple of years, it has become more prominent for companies to expand their recruitment efforts to hire a diverse staff. Hiring managers are not doing it to increase diversity; instead, the process is put in place to eliminate any discrimination towards a more qualified applicant.
